Gable ends have a weak point between the tiles/slates & top of the roof. This is called a verge and was conventionally filled with mortar. These verges suffer from 2 main problems.
Firstly, as the mortar is porous and subject to expansion through freezing/thawing out, it cracks and requires regular maintenance.
Secondly, the tiles are fixed to timber which is embedded in mortar. Overtime the timber becomes damp and rotten. By installing a dry verge system both of these problems are eradicated.
Aluminium trims will give complete protection and continuous watertight cover to your property against water penetration. It provides increased strength and high security against the occurrence of wind damage while providing a complementary finish to bargeboards, fascia and soffit.
It is easy and quick to install, reducing the cost of labour with no requirement for mortar bedding. Aluminium trim, slides into each other with minor alterations at joints, eliminating the need for connectors and accessories.
